I have talked about making homemade playdough for Luna since before she was born. She will be three next month so I figured it was time to follow through. I found this recipe and looked at a few others and realized they are all generally the same I just made some minor adjustments. It was super easy and actually pretty fun. This is literally the best stuffing you will ever eat in your life! Not kidding, everyone RAVES about this stuffing every time I make it. So much so, that every year for our annual ‘Friendsgiving’ I am always the dedicated ‘stuffing maker.’ People just can’t get enough of this stuff so no one else is allowed to make it haha. This year we had a few vegetarians in the mix (my husband included) so I made two versions. The traditional meat version using sage sausage and a vegetarian version, where I replaced the sage sausage with crimini mushrooms and sage. And damn, the veggie version was GOOD. So check out the recipe below if you are looking to up your stuffing game this Thanksgiving!
We finally got started on our backyard makeover! If you want to see the whole plan for the yard you can read my previous post
Spring is right around the corner and that means we are officially kicking off our first big project on our new home: the backyard. It is a complete blank slate. Literally, there is one plant (a gorgeous peony bush!!) and the rest is all grass with a concrete patio area.
This project was long overdue but we finally got to it and it’s exactly what we wanted! We were in desperate need of somewhere to hang our coats before putting them away in the hall closet. We live in Portland, so with that comes some rainy weather = wet coats.
Growing up there were a few things I remember loving about the holidays, and my mom’s chocolate fudge is one of them! Every year around Christmas time she makes this fudge that everyone loves and the best thing about it is it is SO simple and easy to make.
This is our very first Christmas in our new home. One of the first things I thought about when we looked at this house was were I was going to put the Christmas tree. And now the time is here and I am so excited! Decorating this season was more fun tha I could of imagined.
Last weekend we headed out to a local Christmas Tree farm and chopped down our tree! We have always got a real tree and living in the PNW it almost seems silly not to. After wandering through the field of trees for about half hour we found the perfect tree for us 🙂
With Thanksgiving just around the corner (less than a week!!) food, specifically leftovers, have been on my mind! I am a huge fan, like huge huge huge fan, of Shepherd’s Pie. Everything about it screams comfort, it is so just so damn delicious. Another awesome thing about it?
2018 has flown by and here were are, less than 2 weeks until Thanksgiving! While I love Thanksgiving, I am a total Christmas fanatic. However, I do refuse to put up Christmas decorations until AFTER Thanksgiving…the day after to be exact 🙂
