2018 has flown by and here were are, less than 2 weeks until Thanksgiving! While I love Thanksgiving, I am a total Christmas fanatic. However, I do refuse to put up Christmas decorations until AFTER Thanksgiving…the day after to be exact 🙂 It has always been tradition in my family to put up our Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving aka Black Friday. Honestly, I think I love Thanksgiving so much because I feel like Black Friday is also part of the holiday and also the kickoff to Christmas so the entire weekend is just magical. I never, ever go out to shops on Black Friday….I can’t stand being around that many people haha. I do all my shopping from the comfort of my couch while decorating the house for Christmas! I love this day so much. I get the majority of my Christmas shopping done, the house gets decorated (inside and out), we’ll have a fire going all day this year since our new house has a wood-burning fireplace, we’ll watch Christmas movies and eat shepherds pie (recipe coming soon!) made from our leftovers from the night before. It will be perfect 🙂
I’m very much a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas. I basically have a very similar theme for the decor every year and just add a few new touches each year. I like things to be feel natural, earthy, with a touch of elegance and glamour: real greenery, berries, garlands, white lights, creams, burgundy and touches of gold. Since we are in a new house this year, I have already started purchasing a few new things to add to our existing decor. I can’t wait to get started decorating this house, having a fireplace to decorate now is literally my dream. I’ll be showing some sneak peaks as I get decorating but the full Christmas Home tour will go up on the blog probably the first week of December, after we get our tree on the 1st!
I’m excited to share more! Happy Holidays (and decorating 😉 )
