We are soooo excited to finally move into our new master bedroom! We have been temporarily staying in the second bedroom on the main floor which will end up being my office. When we moved into our new house the upstairs master was a terrible shade of ‘plum purple’ with some ugly vinyl floor tiles…gross. So far we have tackled the paint, and it is a now a soft greyish-white (Baby’s Breath by Benjamin Moore) with white trim (Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore). Next up we are having carpeting temporarily (or potentially permanently) installed. Long story short, there is a large unused attic space off the master that will eventually become the master bath and closet and when we tackle those projects we may have the hardwoods from downstairs run through upstairs into the master. But we think we may end up liking having carpet in our bedroom, so we’ll see. But for now, we just wanted to get rid of the vinyl tiles so we finally got the carpet installed on Monday! It looks great which I am so thankful for because I honestly couldn’t remember what the carpet looked like that we had selected…
We really want our whole house to have a cohesive vibe throughout. Our theme is kind of “Pacific Northwest meets southwestern modern”, emphasis on the modern. The house has ton of beautiful original character so our goal is to mix that with our more modern style. We are keeping the colors all really neutral with some pops of black and white aztec inspired patterns. We have already purchased a few of the items on the inspiration board so I’m excited to see it all come together!
